Itinerary of 3 days desert tour from Fes:

Day 1: Fes to Ifran, Cedar forest, Midelt, Ziz valley and Merzouga desert

We start our 3 days tour from Fes from your accommodation, then drive towards a beautiful city called Ifrane, the Switzerland of Morocco, then cross by Cedar forest of Azrou, where you will enjoy watching Barbary apes playing. Next we cross the middle Atlas mountains towards the south east of Morocco. After lunch in Midelt, we drive along Ziz valley and enjoy the palm trees grove of Taffilalt, next we pass by Erfoud city famous of its dates and fossils, then arrive at Merzouga village.
Dinner and overnight in a local hotel or riad.
 

Day 2: Merzouga desert 4×4 excursion

The entire day will be dedicated to discover Merzouga desert and its suburbs. After breakfast, we pick up you by 4×4 vehicle via Khamlia village, its inhabitants are originally from Mali and Sudan. they will play Gnaoua music for us. Next we drive to the nomads who live in tents and know about their harsh life, after a cup of tea with them we drive to Miffis village, an old mining area. In the afternoon you will ride camels towards your camp. You will have the chance to enjoy the best sunset ever from the top of a high dune. After dinner you will listen to the locals playing the drums and dance with you around the campfire.
The overnight of the second day of our 3 days tour from Fes to the Sahara will be in your camp.
 
Day 3: Merzouga desert towards Rissani, Erfoud and Fes
 
Our last day of the 3 days tour from Fes starts early morning in order to relish the golden sunrise from dunes top. After breakfast, we can choose either to cam back by the camels again or by the 4×4 vehicle. We drive few miles to Rissani city, an old city that was an important trading post and the capital of Tafilalt. Also it is the birthplace of the current ruling dynasty Alaouite. We will discover its local market (Souk). One of the oldest markets in the country. We will visit the market of the donkeys, goats, vegetables, spices and many others. Later on, we get back to the road crossing by Erfoud, Aoufous, Ait Chaker, Errachidia, then Midelt where we will have lunch. Next we drive in direction to Fes crossing again by Ifrane. Our last stop will be in Fes exactly your accommodation.
