Itinerary of 3 Days Shared Desert tour from Fes to Marrakech:

Day 1: Fez to the Sahara desert for camel ride to the camp.

Our meeting point will be beside Batha fountain in front of Boutique heritage hotel in Fes.  We start our 3 days shared desert tour from Fes to Marrakech by driving few miles to have the first stop in Ifrane a modern and fresh city that is nicknamed as the Switzerland of Morocco based on its form of building and the weather. It always the last place where they found the last lion in the country. 

Only few minutes we will get to the Cedar forest of Barbarian monkeys. You will have a pause at this forest to play and feed the monkeys. After this we will cross the Middle Atlas mountains with its beautiful landscapes until we get to  Midelt for lunch. Next we drive towards the Sahara desert but before we will have a stop in Ziz valley as it is one of the longest valleys in Morocco. You will enjoy the panoramic view of the valley full of palm trees. Passing by Erfoud the city of dates and fossils. Also described as the gate to the Sahara desert.

Once we arrive to the Sahara you will get prepared for the camel ride.  You will ride your camels with a local camel guide  crossing the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi towards your camp in the heart of the desert. Before getting to the camp you will have a stop to watch and enjoy the sunset in a high dune. This night will be special because you will disconnected from the noisy world. After lunch the locals will prepare the fire and the set up for playing the drums for you. Dancing and learning how to play the drums will be part of the night also. You will enjoy also the incredible lights of the stars.

Day 2: From Sahara of Merzouga to Boumalne Dades

You will get up early to see the spectacular desert sunrise. After breakfast you will be back by 4×4 car crossing the dunes to your car to start driving on the second day of the tour.  We will pass by El Jorf palm grove. We will pass by a Berber cooperative of traditional clothes. You will have the chance to dress them and take pictures for free. 

Next stop will be lunch somewhere on the way. After lunch we will get to Tinghir, the location of the Todra Gorges. We will walk under this high canyon of 400 meters, enjoying the views and the sound of the river. On our way to the hotel inside the Dades valley we will stop by a rock formation that is called as the finger monkeys. Dinner and overnight in Dades valley.

Day 3: From Gorges Dades to Marrakech via Tizi N’Ticheka

The last day of our 3 days shared  desert tour from Fes to Marrakech starts by having breakfast. We take the road and pass by Kalaat Magouna, the roses valley, and  come across some Kasbahs. Driving long the road of thousand Kasbahs to reach Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa, which is also home to the largest solar energy station in all Africa. In this city we will pass by the Kasbah of Taourirte that was used to be the palace of the Glaoui.

The next place to visit is Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 and the most well-known Kasbah in Morocco. It has unreal architecture and is a stunning and amazing Kasbah. There, actors like Penélope Cruz and Gladiator shot their international films like Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and not to miss the famous serie of Game of Thrones. We will visit this old Kasbah to explore the facts and the views of this stunning old buildings. lunch can be before or after the visit of the Kasbah.

After we will cross the the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi N’Ticheka, the highest altitude of 2260 meters. Where you will have a quick stop to stretch your legs and for some photos. finally we will reach Marrakech and drop you off in the square of Jemma El Fenna.
