Itinerary of 4 Days Marrakech to Merzouga shared tour
Day 1: From Marrakech to Dades Gorges through Ait Ben Haddou
We will start our shared group tour from Marrakech to Merzouga at 8:00 am after meeting all the members. We must cross the High Atlas today via Tizi N’Ticheka, from which we can see sweeping vistas, and travel further south to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a stunning and incredible Kasbah with incredible architecture. Many international films were shot, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy: Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz, and so many others. Lunch is an option that we have in this Kasbah.
Next we will cross the city of Ouarzazte to stop beside Taourirt Kasbah that was the palace of Glaoui the Pasha of Marrakech. Last destinnation will be Dades Valley. We will cross the valley enjoying the panoramic view of old Berber houses. Dinner and overnight in Dades.
Day 2: From Dades Gorges to Golden Desert
We start the day by breakfast before to get ready for the desert experience. Today’s adventure takes us to the desert, where we learn about various customs and other tribes. Firs of all we will drive towards Todra Gorges. You will enjoy walking under this high canyon of 400 meters. We continue to Tinjdad village where we will have a special stop to dress traditional items and clothes if you want. Also you make the traditional Henna. And all this for free.
After lunch we will pass by Erfoud town is well-known for its fossils and for having a market with palm and fruit trees. The last stop will be in Merzouga, a tiny town located in the desert. The place where you will replace the car by the camels. You will ride your camels crossing the famous dunes of Erg Chebbi Sahara. On your way you will have a relaxing stop to enjoy the golden sunset. Next you continue riding your camels the camp that is located in the heart of the desert. The party of the Berber and Drums music will start after the traditional dinner around the bonfire with the locals.
Day 3: from the Sahara to Ouarzazate
We get up early to see the spectacular desert sunrise, and have breakfast. You get back to Merzouga. Where you will have an optional time for the ATV Quads or buggy activitya inside the dunes. Next we pass by Erissani or Sijlmassa before. It was well known is an important trading location for the caravans. It is famous for its traditional big market or souk. Also it is place where the Alaouite dynasty was founded.
Next we drive towards Nkoub passing by Alnif town. Before reaching Nkoub for lunch we cross by Tazzarine town via the Anti Atlas mountains. After lunch we go to visit Draa valley, the longest valley in Morocco. You will enjoy the panoramic view of this valley. The last stop will be in Ouarzazate for overnight and dinner at a Riad or hotel.
Day 4: From Ouarzazate to Marrakech
We take a look at the amazing mountain range after a filling breakfast and a nice cup of Berber tea, and we come across some Kasbahs and old Berber villages. On our way to Marrakech we will pass by a local cooperative of Argan oil. a product that is planted only in Morocco that has many benefits for eating and for make up as well. Next we cross the High Atlas mountains via the pass of Tizi N’Ticheka. We finally reach Marrakech and drop you off there. The end of our 4 days shared tour from Marrakech to Merzouga desert.
