3 Days Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fes → Ifrane → Ziz Valley → Merzouga

Your adventure begins after breakfast as we pick you up from your hotel or riad and head south. Our first stop is Ifrane, a charming town often called the “Switzerland of Morocco”. We will then journey into the Middle Atlas Mountains, pausing in the ancient cedar forests to meet the region’s famous Barbary macaques. After a flexible lunch stop, we’ll continue towards the desert, pausing to admire the stunning panoramic view over the palm-filled Ziz Valley.

In the late afternoon, we will arrive at the edge of the Sahara desert, where you will change your vehicle for a camel. Your trek will guide you across the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes, with a stop to witness a breathtaking sunset from atop high dune. The evening is spent at your luxury desert camp, where you will enjoy local music and stories around a campfire under a spectacular canopy of stars.

Day 2: Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley

You should wake up early to relish a serene Sahara sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, you will return to Merzouga village by either camel or 4×4 vehicle. From there, our journey continues towards the stunning Dades Valley. We will pass through Rissani, where you can explore a vibrant, traditional market if your visit falls on Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday.

Our next highlight is the Todra Gorge, where you can take a leisurely walk under the highest canyon in Morocco. In the afternoon, we will reach the Dades Valley. Before settling into your hotel, we will drive to a viewpoint to see the unique “monkey fingers” rock formations. You’ll spend the night in a charming hotel nestled in the heart of the valley.

Day 3: Dades Valley → Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah → High Atlas Mountains → Marrakech

On the final day of our 3 days desert tour from Fes, we travel through the famous “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” towards Marrakech, passing through the fragrant Valley of Roses and the city of Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa”. Here, you will have the option for a quick photo stop or a visit to the renowned Atlas Film Studios. The main event is a visit to the magnificent Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and an iconic filming location for classics like *Gladiator* , *Game of Thrones* and many others.

After exploring the ancient village and enjoying lunch, we begin our dramatic ascent into the High Atlas Mountains. We will navigate the stunning twists of the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m), stopping for panoramic views before descending towards the vibrant city of Marrakech. We will drop you off at your accommodation in the late afternoon, concluding your 3 days desert local experience tour.

How do I get to and from the desert camp?

Your private driver will take you to the desert area, where you will meet the camel team or take a 4×4 transfer to the camp crossing the dunes with a stop a long the way to enjoy a breathtaking sunset.

The following day, you will have again two included options for the way back, either camels or Jeep. Also you have alternative options with extra charge which are Atv quads or Dune buggy.

What is the plan once we get to the desert camp?

After enjoying the camel ride or 4×4 and the sunset over the dunes, You will check into your tent, have dinner, and spending the evening around the bonfire with traditional music played by the local under starry skies.

The following morning, you can watch the sunrise from the nearby dunes to the camp, have breakfast, and then leave the camp by camel ride or Jeep to continue your Morocco tour.

What activities can we do during this tour?

Beside the activities that you have already included in the tour, you can enjoy extra activities as Atv quads, Dune buggy,or horse ride in the Sahara desert.

Also you can enjoy a Hike in Dades or Todra Gorges. These activities can be requested during the booking process or during the trip too.
