Itinerary

8 Days Morocco Adventure from Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech → Ksar Ait Ben Haddou  Dades valley

Your 8-day odyssey begins after breakfast as we depart from Marrakech. We immediately ascend into the majestic High Atlas Mountains, navigating the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass, where every turn reveals another breathtaking panorama. Our major stop of the day is in Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village and a UNESCO World Heritage site. After exploring this ancient village, we will pause for lunch nearby.

The journey continues towards Ouarzazate, named also as the Hollywood of Africa, where you can optionally visit the biggest movies studio in Africa. We then travel through the fragrant Valley of Roses, finally arriving to the stunning landscapes of Dades valley for dinner and overnight in a tradional accommodation.


Day 2: Dades valley → Todgha Gorge Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we start our Morocco local tour by driving through a tapestry of traditional villages and palm groves, leading us to the Todra Gorges. Here, you will have the time to enjoy a peacful walk under this spectacular canyon. After a break for lunch, the journey continues through Erfoud, known as the gateway to the Sahara desert, arriving in the village of Merzouga by afternoon.

Your camels will be waiting to carry you on a memorable ride into the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes. You will pause to witness a spectacular sunset from a high dune before arriving at your desert camp for an unforgettable evening of traditional music, dinner, and stargazing.


Day 3: Day of Desert Exploration: Nomads and Landscapes

An early wake up is recommended to enjoy  the breathtaking spectacle of a desert sunrise from a nearby dune. After a delicious camp breakfast, your deep exploration of the Merzouga region begins. Boarding our 4×4 vehicle, we will venture off-road to meet a nomadic Berber family living in the tents. This is an authentic opportunity to share a cup of tea and learn about their daily life

The desert tour continues towards a mining village called Mefis, where the Frenchs used to live and where now the locals are mining the coal.  After this we continue our desert adventure to Khamlia village where the Gnawa people live and to experience the powerful, spiritual rhythms of Gnawa music. A typical lunch is served on this day which is the Berber pizza or Madfouna. 

Depending on the season, we may also visit the Lake of Merzouga, a temporary haven for migratory birds. Finally we head to your Riad for check-in. The rest of the freeday you can relax by the pool or do ones of the desert activities as Atv quads. Dinner and overnight at the Riad.

For those who want the option to spend another magical night at the desert camp is also available.


Day 4: Merzouga Desert → Ifrane Fes

After a tasty breakfast we depart for Fes. Our first stop will be at the Ziz Valley, a vast oasis where we’ll stop at a panoramic viewpoint of the valley. We proceed to Midelt, a town renowned for its apple orchards, for a lunch break.

Afterwards, we venture into the great cedar forests of Azrou, taking a moment to observe the native Barbary macaques. Our final stop before Fes is in Ifrane, a pristine town that called ‘ Switzerland of Morocco’, before we conclude the day in the historical imperial city of Fes.


Day 5: Fes sightseeing  Chefchaouen

Following breakfast in the cultural heart of Fes, we will have a half day tour with a knowledgable local guide to visit the main historical and cultural sites of the oldest Medina in the country. 

After lunch we will take the road toward Chefchaouen or “Blue City”. The drive takes us through the rugged beauty of the Rif Mountains, offering spectacular landscapes and glimpses of traditional mountain life. Upon arriving in Chefchaouen  you will check into your riad. An evening walk through the Medina is recommended. 


Day 6: Chefchaouen  Tangier

Breakfast at your accommodation and a free morning to enjoy the blue alleys of Chefchaouen for some memorable pictures. After Lunch we drive through the Rif Mountains towards the strategic port city of Tangier.  After checking into your hotel in the afternoon, you will have free time to begin exploring this bustling, multicultural city at your own pace.


Day 7: Tangier Asilah Rabat

After breakfast, we leave Tangier and trace the scenic Atlantic coastline south to the charming seaside town of Asilah. This artistic haven is famous for its perfectly preserved, white-washed medina, where vibrant murals adorn the walls. Upon arrival, you’ll have ample time to explore its historic ramparts and soak in the creative atmosphere. After lunch at a local restaurant, our coastal journey continues south towards Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Upon arrival in the city, where the Bouregreg River meets the Atlantic Ocean, we will explore its most important landmarks. We’ll visit the iconic Hassan Tower, the grand minaret of an unfinished 12th-century mosque, and the elegant Mausoleum of Mohammed V, both of which beautifully showcase Morocco’s rich Islamic and French-colonial heritage. Afterwards, we will check into your hotel.


Day 8: Rabat Casablanca

On our final day of the 8 days Morocco tour, we make the short coastal drive from Rabat to Casablanca, Morocco’s vibrant economic capital. The highlight of our visit is the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world, dramatically poised over the Atlantic Ocean. You will have time to admire its breathtaking scale and intricate architectural details. Following this visit, your 8-day tour concludes. We will provide a seamless transfer to your Casablanca hotel or the airport, marking the end of your Moroccan adventure.

    How do I get to and from the desert camp?

    Your private driver will take you to the desert area, where you will meet the camel team or take a 4×4 transfer to the camp crossing the dunes with a stop a long the way to enjoy a breathtaking sunset.

    The following day, you will have again two included options for the way back, either camels or Jeep. Also you have alternative options with extra charge which are Atv quads or Dune buggy.

    What is the plan once we get to the desert camp?

    After enjoying the camel ride or 4×4 and the sunset over the dunes, You will check into your tent, have dinner, and spending the evening around the bonfire with traditional music played by the local under starry skies.

    The following morning, you can watch the sunrise from the nearby dunes to the camp, have breakfast, and then leave the camp by camel ride or Jeep to continue your Morocco tour.

    What activities can we do during this tour?

    Beside the activities that you have already included in the tour, you can enjoy extra activities as Atv quads, Dune buggy,or horse ride in the Sahara desert. A cooking class can be arranged too in the Sahara desrert with a local family to learn how to prepare the Berber pizza.

    Also you can enjoy a Hike in Dades or Todra Gorges. These activities can be requested during the booking process or during the trip too.

    When is the best time to book this tour?

    The best time to book this tour as it includes the Sahara desert is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to January) when the weather is pleasant and ideal for sightseeing and desert tours.

    Is one night enough in the Sahara Desert?

    For most travelers, one night in the Sahara is enough to experience the highlights, including the desert sunset, camel ride or 4×4 transfer, dinner at the camp, traditional music, and sunrise the following morning.

    However, if you prefer a slower experience, we can arrange an additional night in the desert. This gives you more time to relax and enjoy the surroundings without feeling rushed.

    Can I choose different accommodation options?
