8 Days Tour from Tangier to Marrakech

Day 1: Tangier →  Chefchaouen {the blue city}

Your 8-day Moroccan tour begins the moment you are welcomed in Tangier. Our guide will greet you at your point of arrival either the airport, port, or your hotel. We get ready to embark on this incredible journey. The road soon unfurls into the majestic Rif Mountains, offering breathtaking vistas as we ascend towards the enchanting “Blue Pearl” of Chefchaouen. Upon arrival, you will settle into the serenity of a charming local Riad, with the rest of the day free to lose yourself in the city’s blue  streets, vibrant markets, and cozy cafes. Also it is highly recommended to walk to the Spanish mosque, from where you can see the panoramic view of Chefchaouen. 


Day 2: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes

A day of history awaits as we travel towards Fes. Our first stop is Volubilis, where you will have a guided walking tour among the remarkably preserved ruins of an ancient Roman city. Next, we delve into the imperial grandeur of Meknes, exploring its monumental gates and historic walls before continuing to the cultural capital, Fes for two nights in a traditional Riad in the heart of the Medina.


Day 3: Guided tour of Fes

A guided tour of Fes typically covers the highlights of both the ancient medina and its surrounding districts. starting by the outside of the Medina including the Royal Palace gates, The Mellah where the Jewish used to live. and a scenic viewpoint such as Borj Nord for sweeping views over Medina. After that you will start the walking tour starting with Bab Boujloud (the Blue Gate), one of the main entrances to the Medina. and a walk through the UNESCO-listed Fes el-Bali, including the main streets of Talaa Kebira and Talaa Seghira.

Key stops include the beautifully decorated Bou Inania Madrasa, the historic Al-Qarawiyyin University and Mosque (viewed from the exterior), the elegant Nejjarine Fountain, and the famous Chouara Tanneries, where traditional leather dyeing can be seen from panoramic terraces. The tour often continues to the artisan quarters and souks, Seffarine Square with its copper workshops.


Day 4: Fez → Azrou cedar forest → Merzouga

We start The fourth day of our 8 days tour from Tangier to Marrakech with a tasty breakfast then start driving  south, crossing the diverse landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop of the day will be in Ifrane, also called the Switzerland of Morocco due to their similarities in the architecture and the climate. After that another stop in the Cedar forest of the monkeys. A pause to enjoy feeding and playing with the macaques.

After a lunch, we will drive by the spectacular Ziz Valley, watching the scenery transform into a desert panorama. Upon reaching Merzouga, your camel caravan awaits to carry you into the dunes for a breathtaking sunset, followed by dinner and a magical night in a desert camp under the stars.


Day 5: Merzouga Desert Exploration


Day 6: Merzouga → Rissani → Erfoud Todra Gorge Dades Valley

We start the new day with a 30 minutes drive towards Rissani or Sijilmassa. If we come across Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday we will have the chance to visit one of the oldest local markets. Where you will see a very local life in these unique sooks of vegetables, spices, goats, donkeys. After that we will pass by Erfoud, a very known place for fossils. This place hundreds millions years ago was under water and covered by shallow ocean which made these marine fossils to be formed. 

Next stop is in the Todra valley, one of the beautiful valleys in Morocco due to the contrast of the mountains, Kasbahs and green fields. Few minutes drive to Todra gorge where you will have a walk by the river. A moment to enjoy the highest canyon in Morocco. Our last stops of the day will be in the Dades valley for panoramic views and pictures.


Day 7: Dades valley → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech


Day 8: Guided tour of Marrakech

On our final day of the trip you will discover the hidden gems of Marrakech. After breakfast, you will commence a guided tour of Marrakech. A local expert will lead you through the city’s primary landmarks, including Jemaa el-Fna square, the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Ben Youssef Madrassa, and the Koutoubia Mosque. After lunch, the tour concludes with a visit to the Majorelle Garden. Subsequently, a transfer will be provided to either Marrakech (RAK) or Casablanca (CMN) airport in accordance with your flight schedule. This marks the end of your 8-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech services.

    How do I get to and from the desert camp?

    Your private driver will take you to the desert area, where you will meet the camel team or take a 4×4 transfer to the camp crossing the dunes with a stop a long the way to enjoy a breathtaking sunset.

    The following day, you will have again two included options for the way back, either camels or Jeep. Also you have alternative options with extra charge which are Atv quads or Dune buggy.

    What is the plan once we get to the desert camp?

    After enjoying the camel ride or 4×4 and the sunset over the dunes, You will check into your tent, have dinner, and spending the evening around the bonfire with traditional music played by the local under starry skies.

    The following morning, you can watch the sunrise from the nearby dunes to the camp, have breakfast, and then leave the camp by camel ride or Jeep to continue your Morocco tour.

    What activities can we do during this tour?

    Beside the activities that you have already included in the tour, you can enjoy other extra activities:
